Lawrence Thaller passed away on June 20, 2022 at the age of 88. He will be remembered for the term “redox flow battery” and his early work on the subject in the early 1970s. He laid the foundation for flow battery developments at NASA on Ti/Fe and Fe/Cr batteries, which eventually led to extensive research and development in this area.
Fraunhofer ICT and University of Queensland have signed MoU for research on iron redox flow batteries
University of Queensland and Fraunhofer ICT have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for research and development of iron/iron redox flow batteries. The signing was attended by Hon. Dick Cameron, Queensland Treasurer and Minister for Trade and Investment, who emphasized the importance of the cooperation for the development of a battery industry in Queensland, Australia.
