On October 15-16, 2024, the 40th anniversary symposium was held in Sydney in honor of the discovery of the Vanadium Flow Battery. I was able to meet Elaine Sum at this event and unfortunately only spoke briefly. Elaine was the first person at UNSW to work on the topic. Based on her work, the potential for the feasibility of a vanadium flow battery was seen.
